Welcome to the first Discussions at Dawn. This is where I will talk about hot button issues, book related topics, and other things I find interesting.
Why Commenting Is Important
As bloggers we work really hard to produce fun and exciting content for our readers to enjoy. But most of the time our posts will not garner the response that we were hoping for. Now I don’t think it’s asking for too much to hear back from you guys, and I hope that with this discussion that it will open you guys up to wanting to comment more on posts. So without further ado, here are the reasons why I believe commenting is important to bloggers:
It Shows Interest
When we produce new and creative content for our readers, commenting on it shows that you guys are interested. By showing interest in it, we will keep trying to produce it. But if you don’t comment on them, then we might not continue doing posts like that.
Makes Us Feel Appreciated
When starting a book blog there is no warning for how hard it can be to maintain and run one. Although I love it and it’s so much fun to do, it’s also a lot of hard work. It’s almost like a job in a way. So by commenting on our posts, even just by saying “Thank you,” or “Great post/review,” it shows your appreciation and that all the hard work means something to you guys.
Helps Us Improve
We are all human here. One thing that makes us human is making mistakes and improving upon them. So please comment and give us your feedback. As long as you remain constructive and don’t bully us, we can improve a lot. This is especially important for reviews. Point out of spelling or grammatical errors, we won’t feel offended I promise.
Gives Us New Ideas
Who knows what kind of inspiration you guys can gives us by commenting on our posts with your own thoughts? Inspiration can come from anywhere. Speaking for myself, I can find a lot of inspiration from the comments I receive. Whether it be new discussion topics, tags, memes, book inspired topics, etc.
When I first started blogging I was really shy. I would read blog post after blog post and just like them. But the more I started commenting the more confidence in myself as a person and a blogger. Comments can spark fun discussions and debates. They even help you become a better writer.
Makes Long Lasting Friendships
I love all the blogger friends I have made over the last year of blogging here on WordPress. I value them just as much as I value the friends I see on a daily basis. We share a special friendship; a friendship built upon love of books. We are a community. And I think that makes us great. So go out and comment on posts, you will make life long friendships this way. Who couldn’t use a new friend here and there?
Do you comment on the posts you read? As a blogger do you know the importance of comments? Let’s have a discussion!
Until next time,
