Half Bad Winner’s | What’s Next? #6

What's-Next

Hey guys!

What’s Next? is fun weekly meme created by Hafsah & Asma over at Icey Books. If you want to join in the fun and be apart of #WhatsNext … you can find all the details at the BLOG page.

Here are a two trilogies I want to start soon. Which first?

Winning what you want may cost you everything you love…

As a general’s daughter in a vast empire that revels in war and enslaves those it conquers, seventeen-year-old Kestrel has two choices: she can join the military or get married. But Kestrel has other intentions.

One day, she is startled to find a kindred spirit in a young slave up for auction. Arin’s eyes seem to defy everything and everyone. Following her instinct, Kestrel buys him—with unexpected consequences. It’s not long before she has to hide her growing love for Arin.

But he, too, has a secret, and Kestrel quickly learns that the price she paid for a fellow human is much higher than she ever could have imagined.

Set in a richly imagined new world, The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski is a story of deadly games where everything is at stake, and the gamble is whether you will keep your head or lose your heart.

OR

Wanted by no one.
Hunted by everyone.

Sixteen-year-old Nathan lives in a cage: beaten, shackled, trained to kill. In a modern-day England where two warring factions of witches live amongst humans, Nathan is an abomination, the illegitimate son of the world’s most terrifying and violent witch, Marcus. Nathan’s only hope for survival is to escape his captors, track down Marcus, and receive the three gifts that will bring him into his own magical powers—before it’s too late. But how can Nathan find his father when there is no one safe to trust, not even family, not even the girl he loves?

Half Bad is an international sensation and the start of a brilliant trilogy: a gripping tale of alienation and the indomitable will to survive.

So what should I read next? I’m leaning toward The Half Bad Trilogy… but we’ll see! Let me know in the comments what you think I should pick and why!

Until next time,

Sig New

  1. I have the first two books in both of these trilogies and haven’t read them yet either. They both sound like awesome trilogies. Such a hard decision! I think the Half Bad trilogy sounds a lot more exciting than The Winner’s Curse though.

  2. I’ve read the Half Bad trilogy and while I’m still a little peeved about the third novel, the series as a whole was a pretty pleasant surprise! I’ve only read half of The Winner’s Curse, but I hope to finish it soon! 😀
