The King Slayer | Waiting on Wednesday [#7]

Hey guys!

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights highly anticipated upcoming releases.

So here’s what I’m waiting on this week!

The King Slayer

Author: Virginia Boecker
Series: The Witch Hunter #2
Genre: YA, Fantasy
Publisher: Little, Brown Books for Young Readers
Publication Date: June 14th, 2016

The King SlayerAn action-packed and suspenseful sequel to The Witch Hunter, perfect for fans of Graceling and the Grisha Trilogy.

“I think, in time, you’ll either be my greatest mistake or my greatest victory.”

Former witch hunter Elizabeth Grey is hiding within the magically protected village of Harrow, evading the price put on her head by Lord Blackwell, the usurper king of Anglia. Their last encounter left Blackwell ruined, but his thirst for power grows stronger every day. He’s readying for a war against those who would resist his rule–namely Elizabeth and the witches and wizards she now calls her allies.

Having lost her stigma, a magical source of protection and healing, Elizabeth’s strength is tested both physically and emotionally. War always means sacrifice, and as the lines between good and evil blur once more, Elizabeth must decide just how far she’ll go to save those she loves.

Why I’m Waiting

I read the first book in this duology last year and loved it. It is a great mix of dark magic, betrayal and action! If you love witches and medieval English era, then I think you should pick up this series!

What has you guys waiting this week? Let me know down below!

Until next time,

  1. Witches are a hit or miss for me but I am definitely liking the sound of this series. Plus the cover is gorgeous and I quite like the fact it’s a duology instead of a trilogy. πŸ˜€

      1. Nope, the show is actually further than the books now… But Martin didn’t write this seasons script so that he could focus on the book because, whilst they may be the same at the beginning, they both go in completely different directions!
