How-I-Read-Book-Tag

Hey guys!

I feel like I’m always trying to play catch up with my tags. So moving on I have the How I Read Book Tag. I was tagged by Jenna from Reading with Jenna, and Joey from Thoughts and Afterthoughts. Thanks for tagging me guys!

HOW DO YOU FIND OUT ABOUT NEW BOOKS TO READ?

The internet is my oyster! I use Good Reads mostly, my fellow bloggers, twitter, tumblr etc. Books just keep popping up in my face everywhere I look and my TBR hates me for it. No seriously, he hates me.

HOW HAS YOUR TASTE IN BOOKS CHANGED AS YOU GOT OLDER?

I kind of feel like it hasn’t. For as long as I can remember, I have always loved reading fantasy and sci-fi’s, whether they were YA or Adult. But lately I have been sticking with the YA genre because that is where all the excitement is to be had!

HOW OFTEN DO YOU BUY BOOKS?

I would say at least a book a week if not more. It’s a really bad habit that I really should quit… or at least lessen. My wallet would feel better about that. It also doesn’t help that I work in a mall that has an amazing book store and a crazy selection in their YA section.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO BOOK REVIEWING?

Long story short, I was living abroad with my sister and was finding that I had no idea what to do with my free time. And since reading has always been a constant in my life, I thought bridging out to the review world. I started with BookTube but seriously sucked at it. So I quickly swapped it for the blogging world and I’ve been loving every moment of it!

HOW DO YOU REACT WHEN YOU DON’T LIKE THE END OF A BOOK?

I generally don’t over react. I try to rationalize why the author chose to end their story this way and if I still don’t agree with it, I will express my feelings in a review.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU TAKE A SNEAK PEEK AT THE ENDING TO SEE IF THERE IS A HAPPY ENDING?

I am the worst when it comes to this. I don’t necessarily ruin the ending for myself, but if there is a sequel and the sequel is already out then I will read the synopsis of it to get a general idea of how the first book ended. I hate surprises… I really do.

Well there you have it! The How I Read Book Tag. I hope you enjoyed learning a little more about my reading habits and such. Stay tuned for more!

Until next time,

Signature

  1. Oh man working near a bookstore would by wallet sucking for me as well! I totally feel you about reading the sequel synopsis, I tend to do it as well. It just helps to know how the current read is going to go. πŸ™‚ Super cool that you were abroad btw!

  2. If its a series I will typically read the synopsis of the next book just to get a feel for the series. However, I try not to turn to the last page of the book no matter how tempted I am. I love the answer to the bad ending reaction. I think it’s always best to try and keep a level head and understand where the author comes from even if you don’t agree with it. πŸ˜€

  3. Jesse this was awesome! I feel like we are pretty alike in our reading habits! I try so hard not to look at the last page, but it just… Happens! πŸ˜‚
And my TBR is constantly being added onto, I’m pretty sure my TBR hates me too!

  4. Jesse you kind, kind soul! Thank you for tagging me!! Gah, I feel so bad I haven’t gotten to doing any of them! So sorry!

Oh man, I try not to buy books as often too…but then it’s really just building up, and I end up getting a bunch through an online order. But omg…D: So sad that Chapters upped their online book prices! lol That’s definitely made me hold off from buying.

I try not to read the ending of a book…but sometimes when the suspense gets too much, and I’m like maybe 50 pages from the end…I cave, and then I hate myself xD.
