Hey guys!
Welcome back to another Top 5 Wednesday! This fun weekly meme was created by Lainey over at GingerReadsLainey. If you want to join in the fun and be apart of the #T5WFAMILY you can find all the details at the GoodReads page.
This week’s topic is Top 5 Character Tropes.
*a character trope are things you see often in books, maybe sometimes they get redundant or are overused (especially in ya) but you can’t help but love them.
The list is absolutely endless for this topic. So let’s begin!
5. The Conqueror
A true Conqueror strives to claim the whole of the known world through military means, and often succeeds.
King Gaius – Falling Kingdoms
King of Adarlan – Throne of Glass
Queen Levana – Lunar Chronicles
4. Princely Young Man
The Princely Young Man being a young male of elite status, either by wealth, social position or sheer force of personality and popularity. Usually he is rich and his parents have a very high place in society, possibly in the form of a government job or ownership of an important company or corporation, which he might be expected to inherit.
Wesley Rush – The DUFF
Draco Malfoy – Harry Potter
Farrell Grayson – A Book of Spirits and Thieves
3. Dumb Muscle
The tendency for strength and intellect to be inversely proportional. The Big Guy and The Brute are usually slightly dim at the very least.
Titus/Pax – Red Rising
Colin – Storm Siren
Rubeus Hagrid – Harry Potter
2. Badass Princess
With all the luxury afforded to a princess and all the knights dedicated to her protection, who would have thought the most dangerous person in the castle is the princess herself? Instead of knitting or gossiping, this princess has developed powers or abilities that make her more like a cactus than a delicate flower.
Princess Wilhelmina – The Orphan Queen (I consider her a princess until she claims her throne)
Princess Lia – The Remnant Chronicles
Princess Lucia – Falling Kingdoms
1. Love Triangles
A is in love with B, but B is in love with C, while C is in love with A. Well, that’s one of them. A Love Triangle commonly involves three people, love, and decisions. It can be dramatic, or it can result in Wacky Hijinx. Sometimes a fourth person is brought in to make it right, sometimes somebody might be kicked out.
Alyssa + Jeb + Morpheus – Splintered
Adelina + Enzo + Raffaele – The Young Elites
June + Day + Anden – Legend
Well there you have it! I hope you enjoyed my Top 5 Wednesday this week. I really need to have books about these characters. Maybe I should write them?
Until next time,
As overused and frustrating love triangles are, I like them as well, though has to be written well and doesn’t overshadow the main plot.

I definitely agree! If it’s crap then I don’t want to read it.

Hagrid?! I was sure I was going to read Crabbe and Goyle’s names under Dumb Muscle. I mean, they eat poisoned cupcakes that are lying out in the open! I guess Hagrid doesn’t make the greatest decisions, though.

You *like* love triangles? Truly a rare breed in the world of blogging, but all the power to you haha! I wish I could find a book where The Conqueror was the protagonist instead of the baddie, them ambition is too badass. Also love the Kickass Princesses like Cleo and Lucia ❤

I guess I don’t like them because I have a bad case of second lead syndrome, my faves always get shafted in love triangles XD;
