Side Characters That Deserve Their Own Story | Top 5 Wednesday [3]

Hey guys!

Welcome back to another Top 5 Wednesday! This fun weekly meme was created by Lainey over at GingerReadsLainey. If you want to join in the fun and be apart of the #T5WFAMILY you can find all the details at the GoodReads page.

This week’s topic is Top 5 Side Characters That Deserve Their Own Story. I’ve read a lot of books where I wished I got more insight, or more emphasis on certain side characters of that book. Some I feel are more deserving of their own right to be the main protagonist and some others I’m just curious to know more. or  Hopefully I chose some good ones! Take a look:

5. James and Lily Potter (Harry Potter’s Parents)

James and Lily PotterCredits to

I really want to know what the lives of James and Lily were like when they went to school at Hogwarts. I’m sure being the parents of Harry that they too got into a lot of mischief and mayhem! J.K Rowling needs to write a prequel series with them involved. I think I would die.

4. Jebediah Holt (Splintered series)

This brooding bad boy definitely has a juicy back story. A troubled life with an abusing alcoholic father. Sign me up for this angst! I feel like it would open up my heart even more to know the real truth and story.

3. Raffaele (The Young Elites series)

RaffaeleCredits to Marie Lu

Yes, yes I know. The Young Elites was originally about Raffaele, but in the end Marie Lu scraped him as the main character because the “villian” Adelina was way more interesting. I somewhat beg to differ. As great as a protagonist that Adelina is, I still feel that there is a story to be told strictly from Raffaele’s point of view. At least give me a novella of just him.

2. Prince Ashur and Princess Amara (Falling Kingdoms Series)

Ashur and Amara CortasCredits to Kris and Jen

I get that is Prince of Persia fanart, but that is the closest I could get to the likeness of Ashur and Amara Cortas. The mysterious foreign Prince and Princess that visit Mytica with secret hidden agendas! I want a story of them. What lies beyond the sea? I want to know more about these two. Please Morgan *bats eyelashes*

1. Rowan (Throne of Glass series)

RowanCredits to Thandar2011

I need more Rowan. He definitely warrants having a whole series of books written about him. This needs to happen and this needs to happen SOON! How can you say no to the sexy High Fae that is Rowan?

Well there you have it! I hope you enjoyed my Top 5 Wednesday this week. I really need to have books about these characters. Maybe I should write them?

Until next time,

  1. I haven’t read beyond ToG but I know enough to realise that Rowan is a fan favourite, I have to catch up to see him. I would also enjoy more of Harry Potter: the prequel, especially on how Lily fell in love with James when he was a bit of a jerk face. Great list 🙂

  2. I agree with so many of these, what great choices! I’d love to see Rowan stories the most out of this list I think, he’s one of my favorite characters.

  3. haha, yes.
hmm.. which one will you pick? I’m curious.. that is, if you do pick one.
well, i’m currently writing a novella from Mr. Becker’s point of view, so at least you’ll get that. even if you don’t want it. haha.
