1. Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
There are quite a few places I like to read depending on my mood. My favorite spot is on my chaise lounge. It’s tucked away in a secluded corner for optimal privacy and silence. Then there is my couch which I like to just prop my feet up and read. And finally there is the patio in the backyard, weather depending, I like to bust out my shades, grab a cool glass of lemonade, and sit back under the shade of our tree!
2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Hands down bookmarks! I have so many bookmarks and not enough books to use them all in! I love traditional bookmarks, but recently I have found a new love for cute little magnetic book marks! I have the Blue Power Ranger, Mulan, Celaena from Throne of Glass, Peter Pan, and Harry Potter! If you’re interested you can find the ones I got here at Happy Hello Co shop on etsy. (I literally just made an impulse purchase while linking this page)
3. Can you stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/certain amount of pages?
Good question! I’m generally not too picky about this. I would love to stop after finishing a chapter, but that’s not always the case. When my eyes begin to get heavy and I’m fighting to keep them open, that’s when I put the book down no matter where I am in the chapter.
4. Do you eat or drink while reading?
Yes and no. I almost always have a tea at the beginning of my reading sessions, but I will generally never eat while reading. I’m too afraid I will get remnants of my food on the pages/cover etc. If I’m hungry I will stop reading, eat, then begin reading again.
5. Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
No and no. I am too easily distracted by my surroundings that if I’m listening to music I will have random outbursts of singing that I will forget to read or try to listen to the TV and forget what I’m reading in front of me.
6. One book at a time or several at once?
Usually I only read one book at a time. But as of this year I have been reading multiple at once. I find that it helps when one book is becoming dull, I can easily pick up another and come back to it at a different time.
7. Reading at home or everywhere?
I’m an everywhere kind of guy. I read at home, in the car, on the bus, at work, at friends homes, at the bookstore, at the mall. EVERYWHERE!
8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Easiest question. Silently in my head of course for two reasons. Reason #1 being that I absolutely hate my reading voice, and I always wanted to smack my head on my desk when a teacher would ask me to do it in school. Reason #2, I think it’s absolutely weird for someone to read out loud for leisure. I have yet to see someone do that.
9. Do you read ahead or skip pages even?
I am a huge self spoiler. I will watch spoiler videos, read spoiler posts, read the synopsis of the second book in a series etc. I even go as far as to read the last page of the book. Something is clearly wrong with me!
10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
Um no. What is this question? Blasphemous!
11. Do you write in your books?
Again. Heck no. If there is a word, or a quote in the book that I like I will put a little post it note or I will copy it down in a notebook for future reference. The only ink that needs to touch the book is the story itself. K bye. Enough with this treacherous behavior.
